Dr Crispin Langston

Crispin and Joy Langston came from England to Waimate in 2002 when he joined the Oak House practice. A General Practitioner with special interest and training in occupational and aviation medicine, including travel medicine, he has also worked for various local companies and ACC. He has a keen interest in all aspects of general practice, particularly minor surgery and women’s health; in this latter role he worked with Family Planning for some years. He is actively involved in aviation, climbing and the running of the local gym. Somewhat unusually, he has also worked as a blacksmith for a number of years.

Dr Steven Fish

Steven Fish moved here from England in 2008 and practises four days a week. His wife, Hazel and three boys are well settled to life in Waimate and between sword fighting, cycling and Scottish dancing it is no wonder the family are now very much part of the town community.

In 2018 Steve and seven others cycled the Tour de France for the Mental Health Foundation NZ – a challenge and an achievement we are proud to acknowledge. Steve is passionate about all aspects of rural practice and particularly mental health.

Kathryn Wigley - Registered Nurse

Kathryn Wigley joined Oak House in 2000 and is one of our senior Registered Nurses. She is PRIME trained and has a vast knowledge of primary care nursing and is our lead registered nurse for cervical screening. Kathryn has strong rural connections and enjoys working locally.

Annabel Cromie - Registered Nurse

Annabel Cromie, also PRIME trained, joined the practice in 2017. Her ten plus years nursing experience has encompassed many roles including district and secondary care nursing, the former in England, the latter in both Timaru and Christchurch hospitals. Annabel has also worked in a variety of nursing roles within Australia. She returned to Waimate, where she originated, to continue her work at Oak House Medical Centre and is enjoying the challenge primary care offers.

Melissa Davis - Registered Nurse

Melissa Davis has been a Registered Nurse at Oak House Medical Centre since 2019 and also grew up in Waimate. She completed her first year out of nursing school with Timaru Medical Centre and is pleased to be part of the team. Melissa brings a fresh approach to the primary care services we can offer and we’re glad to have another perspective.

Lynley Muir - HIP

Have you ever heard the saying "A problem shared is a problem halved"?  As a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP), Lynley is here to help people when problems get in the way of their wellbeing.  Any problem, any age.

Lynley Muir has lived in South Canterbury for the last six years.  Her background is in counselling and nursing.  She is a trained Mental Health Clinician.

Lynley enjoys exploring new areas, camping, and attending the many activities our area provides.

The service she provides is completely funded so fee to come make an appointment to meet her and make use of the skills she has to offer.

Megan O'Neill - Medical Receptionist

Megan O'Neill joined the team in 2021 after an extensive background in customer service at Waimate's BNZ, the Post Shop Kiwi Bank and New World. Another member of our team that is born and bred locally, Megan enjoys walking her little dog, spending time with her ever-growing family and is an active member of the community.

Leanne Swann - Medical Receptionist

Leanne Swann joined our reception team in 2021. She has a comprehensive background in administration and customer service, having worked at Timaru Motors and Ottley Motors. Another member of our team to be born and bred locally, Leanne has a busy family life whilst looking after the books for husband, Vaughan's building business. Leanne is an active member of the local netball and basketball clubs.

Vanessa Morgan - Practice Manager/Director

Vanessa Morgan joined the practice in 2010 as part of the office staff. Youngest daughter of the business owners, she took on the role of Practice Manager in 2012. Vanessa and husband Gary, have worked locally apart from some time spent in America with Foley Shearing. Vanessa has a keen interest in the local theatre and netball club. Her work before Oak House was varied but she finds the challenges of Medical Practice very rewarding.
